The Rudraksha (from Sancrito Rudra, Shiva bones and aksha, eyes) are the seeds of a plant called Elaeocarpus Granitus, which according to many Eastern religious and mystical currents have presumed healing (Ayurvedic medicine) and spiritual properties. The species is widespread in the vicinity of the Himalayas, in Nepal and in various parts of Asia.
They are usually used as elements to build objects similar to rosaries (mala) and jewelry. According to a Hindu myth, rudraksha are derived from the crying of the god Shiva.
